The only way any member earns a dollar is producing a real travel booking, and the commission on it is pay for that work: 45% on the free tier, 90% on paid tiers, reported on a 1099 like any independent contractor's income. If nobody ever books a trip, nobody earns anything — which is exactly how a real business works and exactly what recruiting-driven programs can't say.
Is this legal?
Yes. TravVida Inc is a real accredited travel agency — CLIA Travel Agency Member 00870565, TRUE Accredited 99938076 — and every member enrolls as an independent travel consultant under a written agreement before any money moves. Commission is compensation for producing bookings under our accreditation, the same way every travel agency in America pays the agents who produce its bookings. It is never a rebate, kickback, or discount on someone's purchase — an important legal line we hold strictly, because it's what keeps every supplier relationship clean.
Do members really get better rates?
On hotels, yes — because TravVida is the merchant. We buy at trade rates and sell to signed-in members at our own member pricing, so the number on your screen is the real, final price with the benefit already in it. We don't publish those prices out here — member rates live behind the login, the same way a wholesale club's prices live behind the membership card. On supplier-paid verticals like cruises and tours, the price is the supplier's published price for everyone — what changes is that the commission inside it gets paid to the member who produced the booking instead of staying with a big booking site.
Is $15 a month actually worth it?
Do the math on your own trips — that's the honest test. The Professional tier doubles your commission share from 45% to 90%, so about $34 of commission per month covers the fee; one mid-size hotel booking usually covers several months. And you don't have to guess: start free, and TravVida shows you on every booking exactly what the paid tier would have earned or saved you. When the number on your screen is bigger than $15, upgrade.
